Sentek probes are installed using carefully designed tools and extensively and validated methods. This ensures there is a very good fit between the probe exterior and the soil, with no air gaps and no damage to the surrounding profile. Proper installation is undisturbed soils provide assurance of good data quality by preserving a native and natural soil condition within the entire zone of influence of the sensor. For deep installations exceeding 2m soil depth, customized slurries are used to prevent preferential path flow of water .

Recent developments have seen the development of a quicker install method for the EnviroSCAN probe, named Fast-1 install, as well as a completely new fully encapsulated Drill & Drop probe with a custom auger which still allows for an undisturbed install.
